The Story of Dizzy

The world’s most intrepid, adventurous goat

It is widely believed that Dizzy Goat was born around 1000 A.D. to a great family of indomitable mountain goats, high in the mountains of the Himalayas. Roaming the mystical peaks at the top of the world as a kid, he loved meeting not just other goats - he also had a fascination for all the creatures of the world, from insects to the human species.

A long, long time ago, when Dizzy was wandering through a hidden valley, he came across a stream where he found the clearest, purest water he had ever seen. Thirsty, he took a drink. It was the most refreshing and invigorating drink he’d ever had! It is believed that Dizzy found the Fountain of Youth that day, because he has never lost the magical gift he received from this drink, and finds that a good night’s sleep continues to replenish the effects of that drink. Therefore Dizzy is a true believer that one must find a good place to rest when traveling to re-invigorate.

For the last one thousand years, the adventurous, wise and clever Dizzy has travelled the world, seeking out the best places to visit, the easiest and most pleasant ways to arrive at these destinations. Over many years of traveling around the world, he has made many friends. In fact it was his friends who had nicknamed him Dizzy, a shortened form of his name in the language of the ancient Himalayan Mountain Goat. In his travels, he has met world leaders, scientists and scholars, and they have inspired him to continue on his own journey.

Dizzy has seen the myriad customs, cultures and faiths of the world, but wherever he has gone, he has also found that deep down, humans are essentially the same: From the highest Rockies to the beaches of Sydney, from the suburbs of Seoul to the African plains, we humans love our families and friends, we love to laugh, we have honour and we value wisdom and integrity. So Dizzy has made these principles his own, too, because he knows that even if one is from humble origins, these principles serve to elevate and ennoble any being wise enough to embrace them.

Travel and the spirit of adventure also keeps Dizzy young. Many years ago, Henri David Thoreau advised Dizzy: ‘Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you’ve imagined!’

Dizzy is now on a mission to show everyone the importance of living how we wish to live and to also travel when we feel the need or desire. Harnessing the power of the Internet, Dizzy has created his own website, and he invites us all to come along and share the ride, to discover our wonderful and beautiful planet. His dream is for everyone to fulfill their own dreams, because as another friend of Dizzy’s, C.S. Lewis, said,“You are never too old to set another goal, or to dream a new dream”.
