In recent years Hammamet has experienced a development boom and is now home to an array of modern and luxurious hotels and resorts. The city also has some old and traditional accommodations, which are moderately priced.

Across the city's numerous areas to stay are accommodations of varying standards. There are several international hotel groups with resorts in Hammamet, including Sofitel, Sheraton, Best Western, Marriot and Novotel.

For five-star accommodation there are several options in Hammamet including the Melia El Mouradi, which is located on the stunning North African coastline with beautiful white sands and warm blue waters. The hotel has modern rooms with a host of facilities including swimming pools, tennis courts, restaurants and bars. A popular choice located near to the marina is the exclusive Le Royal Hammamet, which offers luxury rooms with fantastic sea views as well as a plethora of sporting facilities.

The central downtown district of Hammamet, also known as the old quarter, has a variety of things to do for visitors. It is within walking distance of tourist attractions such as the Great Mosque and the old French cemetery. You will also be close to markets, restaurants and local eateries. Favourite hotel choices in this area include Le Mdina Hotel, an affordable castle-like hotel with good leisure amenities.

Another popular area to stay in Hammamet is the trendy Yasmine district, which is close to the new marina, casino and shopping centres. There are a host of restaurants and bars in the area, making it a good choice for holidaymakers. The beaches in Yasmine are pristine with soft white sand and turquoise waters. There are several great hotel options in the area including the luxurious Sofitel and Karthago Hammamet.

Only minutes from the centre of town is the coastal area of Touritique Sud, which offers great beaches, restaurants and bars. There are numerous hotels and resorts in the area to suit all tastes and budgets. A great reasonably priced hotel is the Caribbean World Beach and Garden, which has a plethora of family facilities including swimming pools with children's waterslides and a great beachside bar and restaurant.

Just a short drive north of Hammamet is the seaside town of Nabeul, which has numerous markets, restaurants and beachside activities to enjoy. There are several tourist attractions in the area, including a pottery factory where you can buy locally made pieces. There are several great hotels in Nabeul such as the three-star Nabeul Beach Hotel, which is reasonably priced and close to all the action.
