Wat Gate, the area of Chiang Mai surrounding 137 Pillars House was formerly designated to foreigners by the government. The house occupies a prime address along the Ping River and adjacent to the Wat Gate Khar Rham Temple for which the community is named. Adjcent to Wat Gate Khar Rham along the Ping River and only 15 minutes ride from Chiang Mai International Airport.
