Ljubljana's historic city centre has the most character and is the most popular area to stay in when touring the sights. During the peak summer season this part of town books up early, so make your reservations well in advance.

Smaller independent establishments usually offer the lowest room rates, while the up-market chain hotels will be comparable to prices found in other European cities. Rates are at their best during the shoulder seasons between the summer holidays and Christmas time.
