Worth taking note is that the hotel boasts one of the nicest and largest swimming pools for a city hotel. The Balinese styled pool is complemented by the St Gregory's Javana Spa with lush Balinese gardens. This is truly an oasis in the city. sg 03/09
The lobby is medium in size and shady due to tinted windows and the shady trees outside. To the right is the Chinese restaurant and to the left is the coffee house.
The exterior of the hotel is distinctly arc shaped, curving towards Beach Road. It is relatively low rise in modern Singapore.
Plaza Brasserie serves International and local cuisine, their buffet dinner features a smorgasbord of local, continental and Asian Cuisine. Si Chuan Dou Hua is renowned for its authentic Si Chuan dishes and it's one of the favorite restaurants among the locals.
The rooms are modern in look with the use of earth tones for the walls and furnishing. The use of light woods completes the sophisticated modern look. Double rooms have 1 king size bed and 2 single beds for twin rooms. The rooms are equipped with in-room safe, coffee/tea making facilities, iron & ironing board.
Beach road lies just inside Singapore's Central Business District. Suntec Convention Centre and the Marina Bay area are easily accessible by crossing over a bridge. It is also across the road from the historical former enclave of the Malay sultanate and hence the name of Arab Street where the Arab traders used to ply their trade and indeed many still do so today. A row of shop houses sits opposite the hotel, on the ground floor of the shop there are some restaurants, local coffee shops and small firms. Beach Road was historically on the beach and hotels like the Raffles down the road were beach front properties; however land reclamation has since pushed the sea 2 kms further.
