Panama City's tourist infrastructure has developed significantly over the last few years and, as a result, there are a number of five-star establishments which have been built to cater to wealthy tourists. There is a wide range of hotel options and regardless of your budget, there will be something to suit.

The city centre has many avenues which have top class hotels on them. These are all centrally located and popular with visitors. Other popular places to stay include close to Casco Viejo and along the beach front. The outskirts of the city also have some very nice resorts which allow you to be very close to nature and on the edge of the rainforests.

The Bristol is the city's most luxurious hotel. Located on one of the most exclusive streets in the city, Calle Aquilino de la Guardia, this hotel comes complete with marble and hardwood furnishings, a 24-hour butler service, excellent facilities and some of the best standards of service in the city. It is a small intimate hotel with just 56 rooms, ensuring that your stay will allow you to have as much privacy as you like.

Another popular hotel along this famous avenue in the heart of the business district is the Executive Hotel. You will not find much in the way of budget or even mid-range accommodation here as it is one of the most expensive streets in the city.

The Marbella region of the city is another exclusive and expensive part of town. Here you will however find more mid-range hotels as well as five-star luxury. The four-star Sheraton is located here as is the Hotel Marbella. There are many mid-range options to choose from which are perfect for families.

Those who like to sunbathe may want to stay close to the beach. Options are extensive for this part of town and include accommodation in all budgets. Hotels found here include the luxurious Playa Bonita Resort and Spa.

Casco Viejo is home to some stunning hotels and guesthouses which lie very close to the famous historical site. Hotels in this area include The Casa Mar Alta, a mid-range option with excellent facilities; The Holiday Inn, a great place to stay if you have young children; The Radisson and a number of smaller hostels and guest houses.

There is not a great selection of hotels within immediate vicinity of the airport as the city centre itself is so close; however, the Riande Airport Hotel Resort is just one kilometre away and is perfect for business travellers or those who have an early flight to catch.
