A property with real character. Please note that the swimming pool is currently closed due to the ongoing effects following the Earthquake in the city in February 2012 and has not been able to be repired because of aftershocks, a re-open date is not known at this point. Nearby there is a 9 hole golf course in Hagley Park. Tennis courts are also close by. Bikes available for hire. Probably the best value hotel in Christchurch. SE0112

Low rise Chateau style. Lots of character. Delightful central gardens and pool area.

Restaurant

The Garden Court Brasserie is a bright sun room which opens on to the rose gardens offering al fresco dining at its best. This Brasserie is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Den is an English style pub perfect for that pre-dinner drink or just for relaxing and unwinding.

Rooms

Rooms are medium to large and a good standard. They contain amenities such as mini bar, cable TV, iron/ironing board. Many rooms open directly out to the gardens.

Location

Located on five acres of gardens opposite Hagley park and the Botanic gardens. There is a 15 minute walk through the park and beside the Avon river to get to the city centre. The hotel has a complimentary shuttle to the city centre between 08:00-19:30 during the week and 10:00-19:00 weekends. The hotel will also drop clients off at the TranzAlpine railway station.
