Florence has an excellent range of hotels to choose from, ranging from budget hostels to luxurious five-star accommodation. Many of the hotels are located within the centre of town, making it convenient for sightseeing and dining options although a number of other establishments can also be found along the Lungarni River, allowing for beautiful views.

Regardless of how much money you have to spend on a hotel, you will be guaranteed to find something to suit. While some of the upmarket hotels can be very expensive, there are many mid-range options which are affordable for most families and offer a wide range of facilities. Some of the best hotels in the city include The Westin Excelsior, Villa San Michele and Hotel Regency.

The five-star Westin Excelsior boasts extensive facilities as well as a business centre and stunning views across the river. The Hotel Hyatt is also a five-star facility perfect for those looking for an indulgence and pure luxury. The Savoy and Villa La Vedetta are also popular with those looking for something special.

A large number of the city's hotels can be found in the centrally-located districts of San Giovanni, Santa Croce, Santa Maria Novella and Santo Spirito Oltrano. These are all part of the city centre, but each area is home to different styles, sights and characters.

Outside of the city centre, Campo di Marte is home to a number of historical buildings which date back to the late 19th century. It is very much a residential area although there are family-run bed and breakfasts to be found here.

Rifredi is in the northwestern part of the city and is full of contrasts. There are stunning country villas here which can be rented as well as Chinese and African quarters which also have a range of accommodation options.
