There are well over 150 hotels in Frankfurt and many of these are top quality places catering to business-folk. Frankfurt sees numerous trade fairs throughout the year and for this reason it is wise to book ahead as far as possible and avoid visiting during the fairs if you can. Even standard quality places bump up their rates during conferences, while top-end hotels rarely lower their prices much even at weekends.
Frankfurt has more top-end hotels than most cities due to its business prowess, although family-run guest houses can also be had for those on a budget. Among Frankfurt's best hotels is the Mozart near the Opera House. This pink and white building has excellent facilities and services, along with the Hotelschiff Peter Schlott, which can be found on a ship on the River Main.
Other top hotels with quality standards and facilities in Frankfurt are the Hotel Hessischer Hof and Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof in the city centre; the Radisson SAS Frankfurt, in the Westend; and the Villa Kennedy farther out.
The city centre if where it's at in Frankfurt regards its hotels. Most top hotels are within easy access of the central train station (Bahnhofsviertel) and major attractions, along with the busy business district.
Although most of the best hotels tend to be in this area, there are also some lower quality, yet expensive places. This is also Frankfurt's red light district so it is wise to check ahead as to the exact location of any hotels you are considering staying at if you are travelling as a family.
The Westend is another very good hotel choice in Frankfurt and is second only to the city centre for choice and availability. The Westend is near the Exhibition Centre, to boot, and although mostly about business, it is more comfortable staying here than in the city centre. Transport options into town are also good and there are plenty of guest houses if your budget isn't up to the five-star business hotels.
Those who prefer to stay out at the airport have a choice of a couple of dozen hotels and most are well appointed and come with excellent facilities. They also generally come with free shuttle service and can be contacted from the phones within the bus terminal at the airport's Arrivals hall.
Quality hotels near the airport include: Novotel Airport, Comfort Inn/Feger, Rhein-Main Raunheim, and Morfelden-Walldorf. The Steigenberger Airport is another good luxury option near the airport while the Holiday Inn will save you some money.
