Cairns is a good base for touring - explore the Great Barrier Reef, Skyrail Kuranda, Tjapukai Aboriginal Centre. Palm Cove is only 26km north, and Port Douglas 60km; and for contract - rainforest of Cape Tribulation is 150km north.
